Back in June we were offered an opportunity to participate in a project run by a CE branch of the world-famous Avery Dennison, which is the biggest global producer of self-adhesive labels mainly familiar to wine producers.
We were asked to create a special set of designs for both red and white wines and sparkling wines to present a new collection of premium Avery Dennison materials.
For us, it was incredibly interesting work as we proceed in quite the opposite way to the usual workflow. Each design was carried out to both best promote the character of the given material and to present different surface finishing and refinement. Based on the character of the material, we created the brands and their stories.
For example, an organic wine brand “Ruta Grana” was created for a unique paper which is manufactured with a recycled component of remnants left after grape pressing. The wine comes from the mystical place Jumilla in the Murcia region of Spain, where it is traditionally manufactured from the local Monastrell grape.
For the limited cosmic edition of sparkling wine “Jean Marin”, we got the inspiration directly from the material name “Frozen Orion”. Regarding “Magma” from Napa Valley, we worked with the volcanic eruption of taste of Syrah grapes growing in a hot climate in a soil rich in minerals.
We would like to thank our friends from Avery Dennison for this fantastic experience. Once again we could demonstrate our skills and knowledge of brand creation and packaging design. However, we are mainly pleased that our work has been very warmly accepted not only in Central Europe but also in such wine-producing giants as Spain and Portugal.
